Monday, August 18 This session will provide an introduction to governmental and legal aspects of policy making in the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe (CoE), as well as the impact of membership on politics, law and policy making in its current and future member states. In addition, the session will aim to focus on EU enlargement issues and developing aid structures including TACIS and PHARE. Attention will be given to equipping participants with the basic tools necessary to understand the underlying principles of European legal integration in a broader sense. As part of this process, the session will provide participants with an understanding of where to find and how to analyze EU and CoE legal sources.
