2005 Stanhope Centre and LSE Crisis States
Research Programme
East African Journalist Fellows
Throughout August and September the Selection Committee
intensely reviewed over 100 applications from outstanding journalists
in the region- the majority of the applicants came highly recommended
to us through individuals and organisations active in the region.
The choice was difficult but the following candidates have been
selected as the 2005 Stanhope Centre and LSE Crisis States Research
Programme Fellows. We are looking forward to having them join
us here at the Centre as well as becoming involved in the LSE
community. As their profiles suggest, they certainly have a great
deal to teach us! At the below pages, you will find short biographies
and work samples of our fellows.
Unfortunately, our two Fellows from Eritrea--Tombossa
Asmelash and Tighisti Fesshaye Gerezgher--were unable to join
us for the programme in London:
